SENIOR DESIGNER
Lindsay Gerber Interiors is an award winning, luxury residential interior design firm in San Francisco looking for a Senior Designer to join our growing team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Designer will work directly with Lindsay to lead project execution from start to finish and oversee all aspects of the design process. You will be a part of a fun and dedicated team creating interior design concepts, presentations for clients and technical documentation for vendors. This role entails finessing details and finishes, sourcing beautiful furnishings, balancing selections with budgets, scheduling needs, team and vendor management as well as managing overall project execution. Responsibilities include:
Leading interior design assignments that include conceptual design, schematic design, design development & construction documents
Assessing project scope, timeline, budget, staffing requirements, and key milestones for each project
Developing and overseeing comprehensive design presentations, mood boards, 3D models and visualizations, rendered floor plans and elevations, detailed specifications and drawings, complete construction drawing sets, specification packages, and custom furniture design documentation
Creating schedules with accurate product information for all millwork, casework, appliances, plumbing, hardware finishes, and accessories
Overseeing technical documentation for manufacturers and artisans, reviewing shop drawings and sketches
Sourcing and specifying vintage and contemporary furniture, furnishings, and lighting
Implementing, processing and tracking furniture and furnishings orders
Developing sketches, floor plans, and elevations in AutoCAD that reflect the client’s needs
Generating scopes of work, creating and managing FF&E schedules and budgets
Managing and following up on progress of work throughout all phases of design, fabrication, and construction
Conducting field visits, taking measurements, and managing construction administration tasks, including site inspections, addressing RFIs, reviewing control samples and shop drawings, collaborating with consultants, manufacturers, and contractors, and finalizing the punch list
Collaborating with a variety of service providers working on each project, including architects, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers, and various specialty consultants
Scheduling trades and vendors for installations, and coordinating all aspects of the install
Efficiently manage project designers, design assistants and interns on the team; demonstrate strong managerial and communication skills
Providing strong organizational and relationship management skills throughout each facet of the design process
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
10+ years of experience with increasing responsibilities at a leading luxury residential interior design firm
Located in close proximity to San Francisco. This role requires frequent travel to various locations; candidates must own or have access to a reliable car
Excellent communication, presentation and problem-solving skills
Expertise in AutoCAD, Studio Designer, Asana, Adobe Creative Cloud and Office 365/Google Suite. Knowledge of Revit/SketchUp is a plus
Ability to interact at all levels of the company and with external parties in a professional manner
Extensive experience with FF&E and furniture specifications including selecting and specifying furnishings, hardware, lighting, floor/window coverings, materials, and finishes
High level of numeracy with a proven ability to manage purchasing and budgets
Proficient in space planning, hand and digital drafting
Comfort working closely with a wide variety of vendors including showrooms, workrooms, subcontractors and partner teams on job sites, efficiently solving challenges on the spot
Experience leading teams including training and mentoring junior team members
Proven organizational abilities and attention to detail with the ability to work on multiple projects across various phases
Strong knowledge and relationships with relevant local, regional and national vendors
